PHONE GUY LEBT! Er sagte in Nacht 4 "I-I always wondered what was in all those empty heads... back there..."
Okay, so my theory is that in the cutscenes, you play as the Phone Guy. Yep, in FNaF 1, when he was supposedly killed by the animatronics, he was stuffed in an empty Freddy suit. Now I know what you're thinking, and the answer is I KNOW FNAF 2 IS A PREQUEL. The cutscenes take place in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, in the same location in FNaF 1. So what does this imply?
The Phone Guy was stuffed inside a suit with an empty head. Remember his lines in the phone call before he was stuffed:
'I-I always wondered what was in all those empty heads... back there...'
So he knows that the heads are empty, (for his survival) and he also asks you to check backstage during your day shift. (I can't remember the exact words he said. It was on night four, though, just in case you wanna check...) In conclusion, he knows he'll be put inside a Freddy suit with an empty head.
'But SpingeBill! Wouldn't the crossbeams and wires inside the suit kill him?' ... I hear you say. Well remember, on Night One, FNaF 1, the Phone Guy tells you that the hazardous mechanisms are only particularly around the facial area, so... that would explain why he can't run away from the other animatronics, right? You know, there are still SOME mechanisms inside the rest of the suit.
Anyway, the cutscenes prove it all.
Cutscene 1: Chica and Bonnie gaze ahead, not paying any attention to you at all.
Cutscene 2: Chica and Bonnie suddenly become curious and look towards you. They seem to suspect you of something...
Cutscene 3: Chica and Bonnie have removed their eyes, as if to show that they recognise that you are missing animatronic eyes. Golden Freddy mysteriously appears in front of you. He's a hallucination, but he represents here the animatronics recognising that you are just wearing a suit; Golden Freddy is a suit as well.
Cutscene 4: Chica and Bonnie aren't bothered anymore by you. They've left the Puppet to inspect you. The Puppet floats in front of you supernaturally, and he's not looking at your suit. He's looking in through the eyeholes, trying to find out if you have human eyes or not. And when he realises that you are indeed human, the cutscene ends.
So if the Phone Guy survived this traumatizing ordeal, then he'll have a huge story to tell in FNaF 3, and MAYBE he'll think a little differently of the animatronics.
Oh wait, I forgot to explain the static! Yep, the Phone Guy blacks out during the cutscenes. The vague static represents that he's half-dead. Remember, when you die in the game, you see complete static.
